On Friday, May 9, 2025, primary students from Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School went on a study trip to visit different activities of Sina Gérard’s Urwibutso Enterprise in Rulindo District, Northern Province.

This study trip was very important and helpful. It was organized to help students learn by seeing real things and visiting places where people do creative and technical work.

The students and their teachers were shown different factories at Nyirangarama including; a factory that makes sugarcane juice, one that makes Akabanga (hot chili oil), a factory that makes Akanoze porridge flour, others that produce flour, sweet potato bread, chapati, doughnuts, cakes, milk products, mayonnaise, ketchup, and more.

They also visited the Saint Gérard Chapel, which was blessed by His Eminence Antoine Cardinal Kambanda. There, they took time to pray together.

The students went on to visit Mr. Sina Gérard’s farm, where they saw different animals like Inyambo (traditional Rwandan cows), horses, donkeys, dogs, pigs, doves, chickens, turkeys, ducks, guinea fowls, and others.

One of the things students enjoyed most was seeing the Inyambo cows, riding donkeys, and learning about Rwandan culture and history.

One of the teachers who joined the trip, Mr. Bizimana Thadee, said that the visit was very useful for the children’s education. It helped them learn by seeing things with their own eyes, understand where food and products come from, and develop a love for work, creativity, and building their future.

He said, “Organizing this trip is an investment in quality education. Children learn a lot when they visit real-life workplaces. It helps them grow with values of courage, hard work, creativity, and love for their country.”

He added that they came back from the trip happy, with new knowledge and a fresh vision for the future.
