On 22 January 2025, the pupils of Don Bosco NPS & EPAK began the novena in preparation for the Feast of Saint John Bosco, celebrated on January 31. This day is dedicated to honoring the life of Saint John Bosco, a Catholic saint who devoted his life to helping young people.

The novena commenced with the Holy Mass, presided over by Father Jean Claude Asifiwe, SDB, at Mary Help of Christians Parish in Kimihurura.
In his homily, Father Asifiwe emphasized the blessing of beginning the novena with the Holy Mass and encouraged the children to follow the teachings of Saint John Bosco and imitate him in striving for sainthood.
“We must learn from Saint John Bosco and Saint Dominic Savio, who serve as great examples for us. Let us behave well and always turn to them with our needs, trusting that they will intercede for us.” Father Asifiwe said.

Don Bosco was a humble, selfless servant of God who was able to see true human potential in even the most hopeless situations. By dedicating his vocation to fostering that potential, he helped thousands of unemployed, impoverished and vulnerable youth believe in themselves again and turn their lives around.
With your kindness and prayers, and through our dedicated missionaries around the world, Don Bosco’s legacy continues to brighten the futures of at-risk youth with hope.
