On May 25, 2025, Mary Help of Christians Parish in Kimihurura joyfully celebrated its annual feast day with a vibrant and spiritually enriching ceremony.

The event was highlighted by a solemn Mass led by Bishop Casimir Uwumukiza, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Kigali, and attended by parishioners, clergy, and members of the Salesian Family.

A central moment of the celebration was the first profession of vows by 25 members of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), a lay movement rooted in Marian spirituality and founded by St. John Bosco in 1869.

Among those professing, 22 were from Kimihurura and 3 from the Diocese of Kabgayi, who renewed their vows. The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Gabriel Ngendakuriyo, Salesian Provincial for Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.

Speaking on behalf of his fellow members during the reception, a representative of ADMA-Kimihurura expressed deep gratitude to God, their mentors, and parish leaders, especially thanking Fr. Gabriel and Fr. Jean Bosco Ntirenganya for their support.

He humbly acknowledged past shortcomings and appealed for continued prayers and guidance, affirming that their mission would extend into homes, workplaces, and the Church.

Fr. Gabriel emphasized the importance of devotion to Mary Help of Christians in today’s world, highlighting her role in fostering peace, unity, and faith.

“We must continue to share and teach the love we have for Mary to others. The world needs a Mother like Mary to grow in unity, peace, and faith.”

ADMA, open to all lay faithful, promotes daily prayer, sacramental life, and active charity. Its growing presence in Kimihurura reflects the parish’s dynamic spiritual life under the Salesian leadership.

With nearly 3,000 Catholics, Kimihurura Parish remains a stronghold of faith, love, and service, continuing its mission as a Marian community committed to evangelization and Christian witness.
