In today’s digital age, cybersecurity has become a critical concern for individuals and institutions alike. Recognizing the importance of digital safety, the teachers of IFAK Don Bosco participated in an insightful session on Cybersecurity, Cyber Law in Rwanda, and Cyberbullying.

The session provided a platform for educators to deepen their understanding of digital threats and learn effective ways to protect personal and institutional data. Trainers from IFAK Don Bosco, ICT Department highlighted common cyber risks, such as hacking, phishing, and malware, scamming, spamming and offered practical solutions to safeguard tech devices from potential cyberattacks.

Another key point of the training was Cyber Law in Rwanda, which governs digital interactions and protects users from cybercrimes. Teachers gained valuable insights into legal frameworks that address offenses such as identity theft, online fraud, and unauthorized access to information systems.

This knowledge is crucial in ensuring compliance with national regulations and promoting responsible digital practices.

The session also tackled the growing issue of cyberbullying, a challenge that affects students and educators alike. Trainers emphasized the role of teachers in identifying, preventing, and responding to cases of online harassment. By fostering a safe digital environment, IFAK aims to create a more secure and supportive space for its learners.

By the end of the training, teachers expressed their appreciation for the session, acknowledging how it empowered them with the necessary skills to navigate the digital world securely. As technology continues to evolve, IFAK remains committed to equipping its staff with the knowledge to protect themselves and their students from digital risks.
